The functioning of complex systems relies on subsystems (modules) that in turn are composed multiple units. In this paper, we focus modular might fail due to wear their units or environmental conditions (shocks). lifetimes the follow a phase-type distribution, while shocks Markovian Arrival Process. use Matrix-Analytic methods and bottom-up approach for constructing system generator is proposed. structures, as well its implementation by Modular (MoMA) algorithm, make our methodology flexible adapting physical changes system, e.g., incorporation new modules into current model.
